SPITTAL A.D. DRAU – Stadtparkcenter: International gastronomy flair (since 2006)
The “student city” Spittal a.d. Drau has a draw area of 85.000 inhabitants. Nevertheless, citizens of this charming small town had to drive 30 minutes to Villach to go to the cinema. Gastro Immobilien Börse who was assigned with the conception and marketing of the Stadtparkcenter brought Hollywood to Spittal in 2006 (Employer: Dr. Andreas Kulmitzer (Center-Developer) / RE Shopping Center GmbH & Co.KG).
The centre with a total area of 27.000m² hosts four Cineplexx cinema halls. What's more, Spittal has since been visited upon by international gastronomy flair: The successfully designed Eiffel Tower draws attention to the Café de Paris. Hungry citizens who are looking for Asian cuisine get their money's worth at Running Asia – an urban gastronomical concept that is frequently used by visitors of the centre!
Mix of shops, services, cinema centre, gastronomy and offices
The Stadtparkcenter in the centre of Spittal was deliberately constructed as a complement to urban structure in order to revive the inner city. It draws an architectural bow between the railway station, the school centre and the city park, bordering the inner-city core area. To support this notion, the centre received three equal entrance portals to accentuate accessibility, openness and transparency.
In total 30 shops with sales areas between 30m² and 2.000m² were erected on the former post office area of 13.000m². International tenants like C&A, H&M and EUROSPAR support a couple of domestic enterprises. Offices form another focus of the project. A broad mall which acts as a connection between Bahnhofstraße in the East, Mozartstraße in the West and Auenweg in the South invites you to amble along.
The Stadtparkcenter – the second largest inner-city shopping centre in Carinthia – helped to raise the city's attractiveness. The 85.000 inhabitants in the draw area of Spittal have been provided with an attractive shopping opportunity.
