LINZ – Central station (since 2004)

Category: Austria, Railway Stations

The building of the central station in Linz dates back to the 1950s and was completely renewed. Visitors arriving in Linz now enter a bright and transparent glass architecture. Due to the open architectonic design the different sections of the central station can be overseen from every position. A shopping mall connects the tram stations and the platforms. Moving staircases and lifts lead to the central mall with attractive gastronomical enterprises and shops. The building retains an international flair of an airport – the surrounding district was upvalued as well.
